Lisa Leinveer

Lisa holds a Master of Arts in Women's Studies and Feminist Research from the University of Western Ontario and an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Queen's University, where she was a member of the Dean's Honour Roll. She obtained her Juris Doctor degree from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she spent a summer and a school term as a student caseworker in the Social Assistance, Violence and Health Division of Parkdale Community Legal Services. While at law school, Lisa was a research assistant to professors Eric Tucker and Shelley Gavigan examining employment standards enforcement and designing Parkdale’s educational materials.

 

Lisa articled at the United Steelworkers' Canadian Legal Department, where she was immersed in all aspects of labour law and proceedings. Following her call to the Ontario Bar in 2016, Lisa served as junior counsel with Cavalluzzo Shilton McIntyre Cornish LLP in a significant pay equity human rights application brought by the Association of Ontario Midwives. Lisa has a strong interest in mental health and capacity law and serves clients in all of Swadron Associates’ practice areas.
